OwnerHi, I'm James the owner of Unknown Barbershop, I've been cutting hair for over 9 years now and it is my absolute passion. I love to create with all types of hair, short or long! I am aiming to create not just another barbershop in Shrewsbury but a family of clients of all ages who can enjoy a vibrant and cool atmosphere, whether you are hair adventurous or not you are welcomed into the “UNKNOWN” family.

BarberI'm George, I trained and worked with Toni & Guy, which built my foundation in precision cutting, personalised styling and attention to detail. Now in the barbering world, I specialise in clean fades, textured scissor work and modern, wearable looks. My approach is relaxed and client-focused. I want every person in my chair to feel comfortable, heard and confident when they leave.

Apprentice barberHi, I'm Leighton, an apprentice barber at Unknown Barber Shop. I'm passionate about barbering and enjoy creating clean, fresh styles while making sure every client leaves feeling confident. I specialise in fades, classic cuts and beard trims, and I'm constantly developing my skills and learning new techniques to give my clients the best possible service.

Whilst recovering from surgery to my face and lip, I needed a safe and good quality shave around my wound area. James completely understood the importance of this and used a safe way to give me a great shave. I feels great to be clean-shaved 5 weeks after surgery. Thanks Unknown Barber.👍
Top experience. I've never really settled on a regular barbershop until now, and don't plan on getting a haircut anywhere else even if I leave the Shrewsbury area! It's a nice, bright space with easy parking outside, away from the road, and with a cool, laid back vibe inside. Iva had George each time. He's really friendly and personable and takes great care in his craft. I've asked for three different styles each time I've gone and George has delivered a great haircut each time. He says he loves variety and the challenge of getting different requests and making it work for that person's hairstyle/face/headshape/personality and this enthusiasm, skill, and bespoke approach really shine through.
A great experience as always, chatting with George about life and the world in general. Feels like a friend rather than your barber. Supremely awesome haircut as well of course..George is a real artist and you feel ten feet tall walking out with the fresh, new cut..looking sharper than his scissors!
George is always great with my son. He is very shy and will only have his haircut by George.
Fantastic barbers, really helpful in achieving the style you want, great atmosphere and they make you feel welcome.
